The Tampa Smokers played in several different minor leagues but spent the most time in the Florida State League and later the Florida International League. They made their home at the appropriately named Plant Field. Three separate incarnations of the Smokers existed all at the minor league level. The team is notable for being one of the first racially integrated teams in Florida.
