The Las Vegas Stars baseball team was established in 1983. The team's roots go back to 1919. They played in Oregon back then and were known as the Portland Beavers. In 1973, they moved to Spokane to become the then latest iteration of the Indians. In 1983, they moved to the Las Vegas Valley. The team is in existence today, but has changed its name twice since 2001.Â
