The Buffalo Stallions the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL) as an expansion team in 1979, that circuit's second season. The team never made it out of the first round of the playoffs in three attempts. In its final two seasons, the club didn't qualify for the post-season and with attendance dwindling, the club folded in 1984.
