The Surge began play in the World League. Kay Stephenson served as head coach while Canadian hall of famer Mike Pringle, along with David Archer, Bill Goldberg, Louis Riddick, and Derek Holloway were the team's top stars. The Surge also featured an all-star announcing crew of Jack Youngblood, Ronnie Lott, and long time 49ers announcer Joe Starkey. The Surge won a championship in their second season, but the league was suspended soon after. In 1993, the team then joined the CFL as the Gold Miners, becoming the first US-based team in the league.
This product is an historical representation of the defunct league in the description. The product is in no way affiliated with any existing team, league or other organization.
