The Giants had early success, winning a championship in only their second year. Following the season, the team relocated to Washington, but returned for the 1966 season. In 1986, the team rebranded as the Firebirds. When the expansion Arizona Diamondbacks were announced, the fate of the franchise was sealed. The team made one last run but came up just short, losing the championship in their final game.
