The Atlanta Knights franchise was a groundbreaking team led by John Paris Jr., the first black head coach in professional hockey and featured one of the first female goalies, Manon Rheaume. The Knights won a championship in only their second season, but despite their success were forced to move when their stadium was demolished. The team moved to Quebec and became the Rafales following the relocation of the Nordiques, but lasted only two seasons.
