This Arena Football League team was the third to use the name Dallas Texans. These Texans, coached by Dallas football legend Drew Pearson, started off by making it to the Arena Bowl in their first season. Unfortunately, this early success may have hurt the team in the long term. Coach Ernie Stautner left for an NFL job after the season, leading to a new head coach in every season. The Texans never reached the heights of their first season and eventually folded.
