A predecessor to the Cowboys, the Texans used a similar color scheme and played a Thanksgiving day game. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving would be the team's only win as they went 1-11 and folded after the season. The Texans name was reborn in 1960 in the American league and was expected to be the only team in Dallas. The established league however placed the Cowboys there the same season and the Texans were forced to share the Cotton Bowl. The team was successful, but competing with the Cowboys proved to be too difficult and the team relocated following its only championship. Notable Texans included, Len Dawson, Abner Haynes, Frank Arbanas, Cotton Davidson, Sherrill Headrick, and Chris Burford
