The Thunder were coached by CFL hall of famer Don Matthews while Lee Corso served as GM. The team reached the 1992 World Bowl, losing 21-17 in what would be its last game. Following the 1992 season, the league shut down for 2 seasons to restructure. When the league resumed play in 1995, no North American teams were included although the Berlin Thunder would later take their name.
