The Sabercats were coached by Arena Hall of Fame coach Darren Arbet during most of its existence including its 4 championships. Cowbells were a mainstay at home games after a 2004 incident when the team was fined for giving out free cowbells at a playoff game. Despite it being a one time promotion, fans continued to bring their own to games for years to come. Following the 2015 championship, the team was shut down due to league instability. The trophy was never returned to the league and players did not receive their championship rings.
