The Victoria franchise started as the Senators and went through a variety of names in its history. The team moved to Spokane Washington and became the Canaries for one season when the military took over arena during WWI. The team moved back to Victoria following the war and became the final non-NHL team to win the Stanley Cup in 1925. When the team folded, many players went to the newly formed Detroit Cougars which would later become the Red Wings. The franchise had 7 hall of fame players in its history.
