Team: Calgary Cowboys
Years Active: 1975-1977
Stadium: Stampede Corral (Calgary, AB)

Calgary was the third home of the team that began in 1972 as the Philadelphia Blazers, charter members of the World Hockey Association (WHA). After one season in Pennsylvania, where they competed against the Flyers of the established league, the team moved to British Columbia, became the Vancouver Blazers, and competed with the other league's Vancouver Canucks, for two seasons. In 1975, they became the Calgary Cowboys. The city was originally supposed to have a WHA franchise called the Calgary Broncos, but that franchise was sold to Nick Mileti of Ohio who established the Cleveland Crusaders. Playing in an old arena that would essentially preclude them from being part of a merger with the other league, the Cowboys closed up shop before the start of the 1977-78 season. Notable players included, Harry Howell (Hall of Fame), Danny Lawson, and Ron Chipperfield.

This product is an historical representation of the defunct team in the description. The product is in no way affiliated with any existing team, league or other organization.
