The Los Angeles Sharks were charter members of the World Hockey Association (WHA). The team was originally going to be called the Aces but changed it to Sharks before hitting the ice in 1972. After two seasons in L.A., the team moved to Detroit and became the Michigan Stags. However, that lasted only half a season. In January 1975, the team moved to Maryland and became the Baltimore Blades.
